How to install DirectAdmin on VPS or Dedicated Server?

Okay lately there are many good deals on Virutal Private Servers aka VPS and Dedicated Servers. Thing is usually for installs of directadmin you have to pay administrators. Thats not so smart since install is really easy.
In this guide i will give you step by step tutorial on how to install directadmin on debian on vps.

To install Direct Admin panel on your debian server do as follows:

First login with root to console.

1. apt-get install gcc g++ make libssl-dev openssl

2. wget http://files.directadmin.com/services/wget-1.8.2.tar.gz
tar xvzf wget-1.8.2.tar.gz
cd wget-1.8.2
./configure --prefix=/usr --with-ssl
make
make install

3.  cd ..

4. wget http://www.directadmin.com/setup.sh
chmod 755 setup.sh
./setup.sh

Now fill in all informations of your DirectAdmin – license of DirectAdmin, user etc.. domain is not needed, can be added later on.

Then wait around 20-30 minutes for the directadmin panel install and thats it.

Extra tips on directadmin install on debian on VPS:

Often while using VPS you have to change eth0 card.

In 90% cases it is ethernet_dev=venet0:0

so write this command after the install.

To be sure type in:

/sbin/ifconfig
